AI: A Game-Changer for Indian Developers, Says Satya Nadella

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella delivered an insightful speech to a captivated audience of developers at an event in Bengaluru, discussing the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) and its democratization. Nadella expressed his excitement about the breakthroughs in natural language processing, stating, “If you take 70 years of computing, one of the dreams has always been: Can we create computers that can understand us versus us understanding computers? I think we may be finally there with the breakthrough of natural language.

Nadella highlighted the shifting landscape where developers are now leveraging AI to digitize people, places, and things, creating data models that provide predictive insights. According to Nadella, is poised to become a global leader in software development, with the second-highest number of developers on GitHub after the US. He predicted that India would surpass the US in developer numbers by 2027, emphasizing the country’s momentum and embrace of new technologies.

Nadella outlined the key components of AI transformation opportunities for Indian organizations, including enriching employee experiences, reinventing customer engagement, reshaping business processes, and fostering innovation. He highlighted Microsoft’s global AI infrastructure, boasting over 60 Azure regions and 800 data centers worldwide, positioning the company as a leader in AI infrastructure and model selection.

In terms of AI breakthroughs, Nadella mentioned several new AI models such as Graphormer, M3GNET, MatterGen, MoleR, and GraphPE, highlighting Microsoft’s commitment to advancing AI research.
